2010 is Upon Us

As we face 2010 and the challenges of winning back Republican seats and taking back our country, we need new and better strategies.  A sales manager once advised me "if it isn't working--quit doing it."  So while changing styles and approaches, yet keeping the same goal, is not always easy--this past presidential election showed us the same old path "isn't working."

Winning Strategy  ~~ Facebook

Jared Woodfill, HCRP Chairman, will be discussing a 2010 plan and the importance of communication with some of the new social media: Facebook and Twitter--to tweet or not to tweet.   Jared and Bill Kneer will do a brief Facebook class and show us how really easy it all is!

Jared Woodfill, Chairman, HCRP

Jared practices law in partnership with Paul Pressler, and is current chairman of the Judicial Screening Committee of the Harris County Republican Party. He also serves as chairman of the Republican Leadership Council and as a Special Commissioner for Harris County. He served as vice-chairman for Senate District 17's District Convention, Legal Counsel for the Harris County Republican Party and as a delegate to numerous state and senatorial conventions. Faith and family have always been extremely important to Jared. He and his wife, Celeste, attend Lakewood Church.  http://www.harriscountygop.com/

Voter Registration

Marty Morrison of the Harris County Tax Office - will be there looking for  Volunteer Deputy Voter Registrars--an easy job.  Acorn is still out there registering people--Republicans need YOU to be a part of the team--get involved!

community-focused, raising over $3 million for disabled and poor children through the

Be An Angel charity. (http://www.beanangel.org/)

Dan is married to a former elementary schoolteacher, Jan, and they are extremely proud of their son, Ryan, a prosecutor in Harris County, and their daughter, Shane, who graduated summa cum laude from Baylor in 2006 and is pursuing a career in nursing. After over a decade in public service, Ted Cruz has a proven record of

standing up for conservative values and winning on a national level:

defending U.S. sovereignty, traditional marriage,

constitutionality of the Texas Ten Commandments monument,

authoring a U.S. Supreme Court brief for all fifty States

(yes only 50, not 57 as Pres Obama thinks)

successfully defending the Pledge of Allegiance,

Second Amendment rights and combating sexual predators.

Ted has authored over seventy U.S. Supreme Court briefs and

presented thirty-four oral arguments,

including eight in the U.S. Supreme Court – the most of any lawyer in Texas .

Ted Cruz served as the Solicitor General of Texas from 2003 to 2008.

Appointed by Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott,

Ted was the chief appellate lawyer for the State of Texas .

He was the first Hispanic Solicitor General in Texas ,

the youngest Solicitor General in the Nation,

and the longest serving Solicitor General in Texas .

Ted is married to Heidi Suzanne Cruz, and they have a one-year-old daughter, Caroline Camille.

The 2nd Congressional District of Texas stretches east from northern Harris County

through Liberty County , and encompasses all of Jefferson County to the souteast Texas border.

Vital seaports, suburban communities, petrochemical plants and fertile farmland all reside in this diverse district.

Congressman Poe has been instrumental in the fight to free convicted border agents Ramos and Compean,

as well as Texas Sheriff's Deputy Gilmer Hernandez and others who have been unjustly prosecuted for

actions in the line of duty. As a matter of homeland security, enforcing our immigration laws remains a top priority.

Before serving the 2nd Congressional District, Congressman Poe was a prosecutor and judge for 30 years in Houston , Texas .

Judge Poe was known for his creative sentencing of criminals and hard-nosed approach to enforcing the law.
