TTPRW August Monthly Meeting -- Congressman Ted Poe

Texas Tea Party
Republican Women
presenting
Congressman Ted Poe
District 2
"It Ain’t Easy in Washington, Folks"

Imagine being in our nation’s capital since last November:
“Madam Speaker” Pelosi (shudder), health care, Cap & Trade,
border issues, taxes, bailouts, stimulus programs…..
it boggles the mind.
We always love having the congressman come and speak!
His easy humor and confident style makes us
listen with our hearts, knowing he is in
Washington, D.C. fighting the good fight for us!

The 2nd Congressional District of Texas stretches east from northern Harris County
through Liberty County , and encompasses all of Jefferson County to the souteast Texas border.
Vital seaports, suburban communities, petrochemical plants and fertile farmland all reside in this diverse district.
Congressman Poe has been instrumental in the fight to free convicted border agents Ramos and Compean,
as well as Texas Sheriff's Deputy Gilmer Hernandez and others who have been unjustly prosecuted for
actions in the line of duty. As a matter of homeland security, enforcing our immigration laws remains a top priority.
Before serving the 2nd Congressional District, Congressman Poe was a prosecutor and judge for 30 years in Houston , Texas .
Judge Poe was known for his creative sentencing of criminals and hard-nosed approach to enforcing the law.
